Van Cleef Engineering Associates (VCEA) is a mid-size consulting civil engineering firm with offices in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.  The firm provides structural, transportation, geotechnical, surveying, construction inspection, land development and municipal engineering services.  We currently have a position available in our Hillsborough, NJ office for an entry level Civil Engineer.

Requirements & Responsibilities:

• B.S. degree in Engineering required,  EIT preferred;

• Prior intern experience in Land Development and Construction projects as well as Roadway, Drainage and Site Design preferred;

• Experience with AutoCAD Land Desktop or Civil 3D preferred;

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required;

• Must have excellent ability to communicate with clients, contractors and other design professionals within the firm.

COMPANY PROFILE

 

Cherry, Weber, and Associates (CW) is a consulting civil engineering firm consisting of over 50 employees with a strong emphasis in transportation. This wholly-owned subsidiary of Van Cleef Engineering Associates, founded in 1970 as C. Douglas Cherry & Associates, has its primary expertise in the areas of roadway and bridge design, bridge safety (NBIS) inspection, construction inspection, site plan design, geotechnical engineering and land surveying.

 

Cherry Weber currently has a position for a Proposal Coordinator based out of our Freehold, NJ office. 

 

Proposal/Presentation Development:

Total coordination and layout of all proposals. This includes:

  • Daily website monitoring for state, county and local opportunities.

  • Evaluating RFP/RFQ’s to determine client needs and set internal schedule for all required items.

  • Request proposal number utilizing PIF. Send out conflict check.

  • Coordinate and contribute to all elements of RFP/RFQ’s, including writing, formatting, proofreading, editing/review, and production.

  • Prepare and coordinate all legal documents as required.

  • Coordinate with all sub-consultants for internal proposals and external teaming opportunities.

  • Maintain a proposal log for all past and current tracking purposes.

 

Marketing Tasks:

  • Maintain well-organized, up-to-date project descriptions, and resumes that reflect firm strengths and client benefits. (Includes writing, researching, and editing material.)

  • Work with Project Managers/Engineers to keep them up-to-date with society/professional meetings. This includes registering those attending for the event, and requesting payment in a timely fashion.

  • Work with Project Managers/Engineers on coordinating trade show events (including registration, hotel accommodations, booth graphics, and give-aways.)

  • Manage calendar/deadlines for registrations and sponsorships.

 

Administrative Support:

  • General Office support (timesheet entry, mailings, supply inventory, building maintenance coordination.)

  • Marketing support (ftp site set up and management, brochure design, content creation.)

     

Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently, as well as in team environments, often under tight deadline situations.

  • Strong writing, editing, organizational, verbal, and time management skills required.

  • Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Desktop publishing required.

  • Knowledge of how to create, combine, etc. PDF’s.

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) a plus.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, both internal and external, especially mid to senior management.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and diplomatically, and the ability to work as part of a team and the ability to lead the proposal development process.

  • Flexibility in the standard working hours may be required to ensure deadlines are met.
