Cherry, Weber and Associates currently has a position available in the Freehold, New Jersey office for a structural/bridge design engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience.  The ideal candidate should have experience in managing projects and personnel, client development and should possess the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis)

• New Jersey or Pennsylvania Professional Engineers License

• 5 years minimum bridge design experience

• NJDOT or PennDOT design experience preferred

• Project management experience for projects with design fees up to $200,000 preferred.

• AutoCAD and MicroStation experience required. Experience with structural design software such as Staad Pro or equivalent type programs preferred

• A valid driver’s license

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and self-motivation

• Working knowledge of current AASHTO LRFD design specifications



Duties and Responsibilities



• Perform engineering design and analysis tasks for bridge and transportation related structures

• Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates and bid packages

• Oversee, manage  and provide guidance to junior level structural engineers

• Attend client meetings and facilitate client development

• May be responsible for directing the work of a multi-discipline design team as lead engineer/Project Manager

• May be responsible for conducting site visits during construction phase for client support

• Party Chief experience in all facets of boundary, topographic and construction surveys;
